On Friday, August 26, 2016, the AAUP-UC Governing Board unanimously agreed to approve the new proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the AAUP-UC and Utica College.
This tentative approval is now subject to a ratification vote from the AAUP-UC dues paying membership.
The procedure for the AAUP-UC ratification is as follows:
1) The new contract will be typed up with all of the tentative agreements inserted into the contract. All contract language/changes will be verified by both the AAUP-UC and Utica College. This process will take several weeks.
2) Once Step #1 is completed, the Governing Board will call an AAUP-UC membership information meeting.
3) At least one week prior to this information meeting, the Governing Board will send the tentatively approved contract to the AAUP-UC membership. The new contract, as well as a copy of the old contract, will be distributed electronically.
4) One week after the informational meeting, secret ballots will be mailed to the active membership for the ratification vote. This ballot may be electronic.
As always, if you have questions about the contract or any workplace issue, please don’t hesitate to contact AAUP-UC President, Paul J. MacArthur or any other member of the Governing Board.
Thank you for your continued support of the AAUP-UC.
